I generally don’t eat breakfast because I snack all day on what “some” call junk food. Well, I count calories and take a ton of vitamins. I’ve also added a protein shake in the mornings.
Anyway, I went from a comfortable 38 waist size to a 32 waist size. I also went from 235 to 185. That’s 50 pounds without being a “good food” elitist :). I have no intentions of putting that weight back on for my health. I spoke about my blood pressure scare several times.
I started lifting heavier weights. Suffice it to say I need to increase my protein intake. I am not a big meat eater nor did I want to expand my caloric input by too much. I developed a delicious protein shake that includes other nutrients. Everyone reading this should try it.
I fix this protein shake every morning
I blend the following.
1/2 – cup of almond milk
2 Heaping tablespoons of flaxseeds
3 Heaping tablespoons of peanut butter powder.
3 Tablespoons of Nesquik cocoa
2 Tablespoons of Stevia (zero calorie sweetener)
1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract (I use imitation.)
2 cups ice cubes
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 banana (optional)
I throw all the ingredients in the blender and blend at high speed for about two minutes. What emerges is a thick shake-like drink that is not only healthy and low calorie but very tasty. I guarantee you will get hooked on it.
I used Nesquick, but you can substitute pure chocolate powder to devoid it of milk & sugar completely. This concoction is much better than the milkshakes I love from Sonics, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen, or the other fast food joints I frequent. Try it and leave me a message about whether you like it or not.
BTW, I do not know if it is psychological, or it is some placebo effect, but I think I’ve been more energetic since I started drinking this concoction daily. Does it matter? Nah!
